The season for lions is long running from Sept. 1 through March and is regulated by quotas. We hunt with dogs and good snow helps in finding tracks so we usually wait until November 15th to start chasing lions. We also have a lot of bobcats in this area so we chase them at the same time. We run 5 day hunts with additional days being added if needed. We also set some traps and call predators during this hunt. This is a very fun hunt and a nice way to get outside during the off season.
Black Bear Hunting
The spring bear season runs from April 15 - June 15 and is regulated by quotas. SCO runs bear hunts over baits, starting on May 15th and running to June 15th. There is a wide variety of color phases in this area. We also run bear hunts in the fall from September 1 - October 31. They can be hunted separately or in a combo with big game animals.
